About Joy After spending 20 years in the Caribbean, living on the island of Saint-Martin and travelling to many countries , we have decided to move to the island of Koh Chang in the south-east of Thailand (near the Cambodian border). Koh Chang is the largest island within the KohChang Marine National Park and boasts some of the most well preserved virgin forests in Southeast Asia. Teaming with rivers, waterfalls, large misty peaked mountains and a wide array of plants and animals, Koh Chang is a superb destination for nature-oriented travellers. It’s for these reasons as well as the ever smiling, helpful and friendly Thai people that make Koh Chang an easy choice for us to settle in 2004 About Joy , 15 years ago, after experiencing serious health ,problems."JOY" discovered Yoga She first studied under a Sivananda certified Yoga, master, and also maintained a daily practice of her own at home. She then travelled to India, in order to deepen her understanding of Yoga practice. While living in India, she studied “Iyengar”techniques with an Iyengar disciple. These techniques focus on the perfect alignment of the body, with the help of various accessories (ropes, block, chairs, …..) In the meantime, Patrick Torres, a specialist of “Nada Yoga”, taught Joy the Yoga of Song, the chanting of Sanskrit Mantras and harmonic songs. The chanting of these mantras has the power to change the vibrations both inside and outside of the body, and develop the breathing by opening the chakras. Joy then returned to France where she completed studies of the “Eye’s yoga”“Bates " method for improving and maintaining ones eyesight, rather than relying on prescription eyes glasses or contacts. These techniques (palming, balancing,….)are effective at healing degenerative eye diseases After these previous studies, Joy made a commitment to spend a month in an Ashram in order to get her Certificate of SIVANANDA YOGA TEACHER
Her stressed guest were coming from all over the world and mainly from the USA .
Apart from this Joy had different other training such as : She also practice Anapanasati Meditation on a regular base and is going regularly at Suanmokk Temple near SuratThani in Thailand for 10 days meditation retreat Under the guidance of Ajarn Poh |
